When it comes to shopping for interior goodies I never need any encouragement! However there are a few items that I really find stressful to choose! One is flooring and the second is mattresses! And from what I hear I’m not the only one! So let’s ignore the flooring for today it will be the subject of another blog post, let’s talk mattresses! I purchased my bed and mattress together about 8 years ago, I spent the best part of 3 months researching which beds I like, how it was going to fit in the room and eventually decided to have it custom built! When it came to the mattress I picked one which was on offer, that was it end of research! From the first night sleeping on it it was obvious I had made a bad decision! Still I persevered with it as there was always something else more appealing to spend money on! Finally a few months ago I decided that enough was enough and I really needed to start the dreaded hunt for a new mattress! For anyone out there who has done mattress shopping you will know the agony and the overwhelming amount of options available! Foam, gel, spring… hard or soft… am I a front sleeper, back or side sleeper? These were all questions that needed answering without forgetting the all important question of budget! So when Eve Sleep got in touch and offered to help I immediately said yes! I mean I had heard lots of good things about the Eve mattress and if I’m honest my immediate thought was it will save me anymore research as Eve Sleep only do one mattress! But how good was it going to be really? How could one mattress suit everyone? Were the reviews hyped up by bloggers keen to get a freebie? I was nervous I admit! I never write reviews about anything I wouldn’t be 100% happy to buy but usually it is only about the aesthetic of a product not about convincing my readers to invest their hard earned cash on something as important as getting a good night sleep! Anyway I placed the order and the mattress arrived 2 days later…
Firstly let’s talk customer service and packaging when you purchase a new Eve mattress. Packaging may not seem that important but when you’re trying to wrestle with a 2 metre long mattress trust me packaging was a god send! Fuss free ordering and the mattress came on the said day vacuum sealed, rolled and all wrapped inside a box! Yes the box is quite heavy but it is a lot easier getting a box up the stairs than it is a mattress with a slippery plastic cover! Once in the bedroom, open the box slide the mattress onto the bed, remove the plastic and hey presto it gradually expand to normal size whilst I congratulate myself on a job well done and drink a well deserved cup of coffee!
I know you are all dying to know whether I got a good night sleep but first let me tell you about a very small but mighty important detail, the top layer of the Eve mattress is incredibly soft and this is the best part you can unzip it and put it in the washing machine which I think is brilliant and very easy to do! Another detail the bottom of the mattress has a non slip coating which means it stays where you put it! Again simple but really important.
So did I sleep well? Yes I did and I will admit I don’t actually know whether the Eve mattress is soft, medium or hard. All I know is when I lie down in whatever position the mattress supports my body without me feeling like I’m sleeping on a board, it is soft but I don’t sink in, there are no springs digging into my back, it is incredibly comfortable without even needing to ask 3000 questions about my sleeping habits. It is honestly the best night sleep I ever had and I am not saying that because this is a sponsored post I am saying it because I wish I had owned this months ago. I could tell you it is because the Eve mattress has five layers including a knitted top cover, a breathable memory foam layer, a cooling layer,a supportive base layer and an anti slip base but really all you need to know is that the Eve mattress is awesome and if like me you are agonising over which mattress to go for then I would recommend this one without hesitation! Yes it is early days yet but I will do a follow up post in 3 months and let you know how I’m getting on. One last detail, Eve Sleep will custom make any size mattress if you can’t find the size you’re looking for on their website.
Thank you Eve for this amazing opportunity to get a decent night sleep!
Disclaimer: For the purpose of this review I was very kindly provided with an Eve mattress of my choice. All opinions are of course my own.
