Hema, the original no nonsense homeware store

Hema, the original no nonsense homeware store

Who is HEMA?

When I first discovered Hema a few months ago it seemed to me a cross between Swedish giant Ikea and danish store Tiger but I couldn’t have been more wrong!

Hema was in fact founded in 1926, years before either of those! The Hollandsche Eenheidsprijzen Maatschappij Amsterdam, or H.E.M.A was one of the first Dutch department store  to be accessible to everyone. It was truly one of a kind, and, to this day it is still the largest franchise to operate in The Netherlands. But why do I love Hema?

The essence of HEMA

Their ethos is simple:  Good quality, good design and great prices! The first UK store opened in 2014 and their aim to make products that put a smile on your face is a resounding success! You can shop online or visit one of the many stores in the country.
