Just as I hear snow is forecast in London tomorrow, all the spring summer previews are beginning to filter through my inbox, its bonkers but great if like me you cant wait for summer! I am a big, huge Habitat fan, i use to love it when they had the stores and I can honestly say they were my very first designer crush ever! So, what’s in store for 2016?… Well, good news rattan is still very much on trend! Not that that would worry me if it wasn’t as i adore the stuff and would have it regardless! Slight throw back to the 70s I know but just look at the Harpa chair, perfect for creating a cosy ready nook pretty much anywhere!

The industrial look has been revisited with the introduction of cement and pieces of furniture which can be used inside and outside. The new collection is apparently focusing on black and grey patterning across the collection.

There is also a brand new collection from designer Martha Coates. Martha travelled to Panipat in India to work with weavers there to put this project together. She didn’t go with preconceived artwork but wanted the designs to evolve whilst she was there. The result is a collection of textiles of mixed woven stripes that feel like unique pieces and use a mixture of yarns – cotton, wool both recycled and upcycled. Key pieces include the Cabana bench with multi-striped cushion and a collection of rugs and pattern that has also been translated on hand striped ceramic vases.

Finally and possibly the most controversial move for Habitat this season, the introduction of Pink!Yes I know but don’t panic, deep breaths and all that, it isn’t bubble gum pink or Barbie pink, habitat is being quite gentle with us and chose a beautiful dark blush pink.G O R G E O U S !
What do you think? Love it? Have a watch of the short video below to see more of the collection.
Have a great weekend and wrap up warm!
