Madam Stoltz

Well I must admit I don’t know about you but I am finding it quite hard to get back into the swing of things! I might be suffering a touch of the dreaded January blues! So I thought I would cheer us all up and look at the wonderful new collection from Madam Stoltz.

Although Madam Stoltz  have been going since the late 90s, I have only just discovered them  through British store Violet and Percy. As you probably know by now I love a shop with a beautiful story…Danish born Pernille Stoltz is a wanderlust soul, self confessed travel addict who fell in love with India. No big masterplan or business plan… love, creativity and fantasy were the driving force behind Madam Stoltz as well as an ongoing cooperation with Indian suppliers producing her designs.

The contrasts between India and Bornholm are enormous. India is a bombardment of all senses and I am very inspired by the Indians old tradition of craftsmanship. After returning from India it usually takes a couple of days for all impressions to settle and hereafter the ideas starts to originate. India and Bornholm is indeed a strong cockail.

Last but by no mean least, since 2010, Madam Stoltz has supported NAI DISHA (new direction), in New Delhi. A NGO that focus on development through education.

During my trips around India, I have seen seen and experienced the most terrible consequenses to extreme poverty. By supporting the wonderful Nai Disha project, I am so pleased to be able to give just a little bit back to the country, that has given me so much.

Nai Disha and Madam Stoltz have together developed a fair trade project. Young people, at the age of minimum 18, are making some products sold through the Madam Stoltz sales network. ALL turnover is transferred to the Nai Disha project – the young people and their families.

So lets take a peek at the Spring/Summer 2016 collection…Loads of yummy photographs so grab yourself a coffee and enjoy…
