Industrial home in an old butcher’s shop
Converting industrial building into somewhere homely can be a tough call. The sheer size and proportion of those buildings can be daunting and difficult to successfully turn into a family home whilst still preserving its history. Sabine Fajana, however, has managed it perfectly… The industrial space use to be her gran father’s butchers shops. Many original features have been kept such as the hooks where the meat use to hang, the bare bricks and the concrete floor. A mix of weathered barn wood, grey paint and handmade textiles by Sabine herself create a relaxed and tranquil family home.
Sabine has created her own brand of textile homewares called Vividgrey where everything is handmade and organic as well as made to last. Her statement Slumber Shade pictured below is my absolute favourite. Go and have a look at her shop it is divine.
