My new Sian Zeng wallpaper

This is a post I really didn't think I would ever write! Me raving about wallpaper? whaaaaat? Me who swears by 3 colours only , white, grey and black! Well I tell you, when it came to decorating the landing area at the top of the stairs I knew I wanted something slightly different from the rest of the house. Different yet still in keeping with the whole paired back boho vibe going ( not a technical term by the way, it just is the best way I can describe my style!). Now, the landing area at the top of the stairs is often a neglected area. I'm talking from experience here! Everything gets dump there never quite making its  final destination! It can be tricky to decorate as it is just a walk through. Having decided to be oh so brave and indulge in something a little more colourful and different I started searching and searching for something just right ie not too plain, not too colourful, not too bright.  I had read a write up on Elle Decoration a few months before featuring the beautiful papers from Sian Zeng. Their summer tropical bloom wallpaper was to die for, it had that kind of hand painted botanical print feel about it that I adored. The landing was the perfect place to have it and I knew it would make a huge impact on an otherwise dull space. After much deliberating and shall I shan't I, the paper was ordered... It came beautifully packaged in those cardboard tube thingys (another technical term!) so no damage to them during transit! I did briefly, very briefly, consider putting the paper up myself but I quickly realised that with so many doorways to cut around it was probably best to leave it to the professional...According to him it is one of the best papers he had ever used. Truth... Thick enough not to tear, thin enough to be workable (his words not mine!). The paste goes straight onto the wall and it really is an easy job, unless of course you are like me seriously lacking in diy skills!

Verdict? I love it even more than I thought I would! If you are nervous about colour or pattern then use the landing or hallway to start. It will make a big impact. It is stunning, ok it's not the cheapest,  but the quality is second to none. Worth bearing in mind Sian Zeng also do a magnetic version of this wallpaper. Take a look here, the whole collection is beautiful, Sian zeng is renowned worlwide for her imaginative wallpapers, creating and designing from her London studio. Also important, the wallpaper is printed in the UK using paper from sustainable forests.

What do you think? Love it? Which room would you wallpaper?
